This project combined practical upgrades with bold design choices, creating a space that’s both functional and visually striking. Here’s a closer look at the transformation.
A Kitchen Designed for Modern Living
The Adams kitchen remodel focused on improving functionality while adding a unique aesthetic flair. Here’s how we brought this project to life:
- Demolition and Prep Work: We removed the existing cabinets, countertops, pantry closet walls, and old sink, faucet, and garbage disposal. Appliances were carefully stored for reinstallation, with new ones to be installed by the vendor.
- Electrical and Plumbing Enhancements: Updates included:
- Dedicated circuits for appliances.
- LED recessed lights and under-cabinet lighting to brighten the space.
- A decorative light above the sink for added charm.
- A new gas line stub for a gas stove.
- Revised plumbing to accommodate the new sink and appliances.
- Repair and Finishing Touches: After completing the demolition and updates, our team repaired drywall and smoothed it to a flawless finish. We also seamlessly repaired the luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring where the pantry closet was removed.
Bold Cabinetry and Sleek Countertops
The standout feature of the Adams kitchen is the striking color palette and materials:
- Custom Cabinets: Cindy chose Kraftmaid Lyndale cabinets with a bold two-tone finish. The lowers were finished in Sherwin-Williams SW 6480 Lagoon for a dramatic pop of color, while the uppers featured a translucent limestone finish for balance. The full-overlay, soft-close design ensures both style and functionality.
- Quartz Countertops: The countertops, crafted from Alabaster White quartz, offer a clean, modern surface with exceptional durability. The double-bowl U-311 sink was seamlessly integrated, combining elegance with practicality.
Modern Hardware and Fixtures
The details in this kitchen brought the design together:
- Hardware: Classic brushed nickel hardware will be installed on all cabinetry for a cohesive look.
- Faucets and Disposal: A Moen Arbor faucet in brushed nickel was selected for its single-handle, pull-down spray functionality. The garbage disposal was upgraded to a ½ HP Moen GXP50C model for efficiency.
A Clean, Polished Finish
To ensure a flawless result, we painted the walls, ceilings, and trim with Sherwin-Williams products in soft, complementary tones. The new switches, receptacles, and LED light trims were installed with white cover plates for a crisp, modern appearance.
